Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Medical Coordinator is also responsible for assessing new projects, developing proposals and coordinating potential donor submissions. The post holder will also work directly with MdM's local partner organizations in Bangladesh. The Medical Coordinator closely works with the Medical Advisor for Eurasia Unit and other experts who are based at HQ in Paris. The post holder is also responsible for building capacity of staff and partners across the MdM mission in Bangladesh.

∎ SPECIFICS OBJECTIVES:
∎
∎ Fundraising, Proposal Development and Grant Management (30%)
∎
∎ Contribute in making Health programming plans and project proposal writing and follow up all medical or health-related activities.
∎ Develop and management programme the budgets.
∎ Works in close collaboration with the General Coordinator, counterparts in Paris Headquarters in the design and implementation of future programme directions and strategies.
∎ Proposes and lead technical researches or surveys in close collaboration with the wider country coordination team.
∎ Proposes innovative approaches in health programming based on MdM internal and external best practices and lessons learnt.
∎
∎ Representation (10%)
∎ S/he will liaise and actively represent MdM in Health and SRH working groups and liaise with sectoral stakeholders in coordination with the technical coordinators
∎ Close liaison with Health authorities and related institutions at district level in Dhaka and Cox Bazar and derive all possible inputs into MdM and partner's programming
∎
∎ New Project, Partner and Location Assessments (30%)
∎
∎ Conduct health assessments and produce needs assessment reports to develop MdM activities when agreed into MdM strategy in country.
∎ Monitor the health situation in Bangladesh.
∎ Participate to the update of MdM strategy.
∎ Support regular strategic reviews and ensure a shared strategic vision within MdM team.
∎ Keeps informed of other health stakeholders' activities and plans (INGOs, UN, MoHS), new national and international approaches, innovations, etc. and ensures that those are regularly shared within the team.

∎ Programme Cycle Management (30%)
∎
∎ Ensure and oversee the quality of the health activities implemented;
∎ Provide technical support to team through the regular field visits, team meetings and project inputs.
∎ Supporting SOP implementation (referral system with partners) and its regular revision according to the needs.
∎ Capacity build MdM staff and local partner staff.
∎ Once MdM has established medical projects, monitor regularly interventions in the field.
∎ Work in collaboration with GBV and MHPSS Coordinator on project implementation, ensuring smooth planning between teams and effective cohesive working.
∎ Monitor regularly the partner's activities in coordination with coordinators;
∎ Provide technical support to establish an effective and evidence based monitoring evaluation learning and accountablity plan for health activities in coordiation with other departments.
∎ Identify health related training needs of MdM staff and ensure formal and on-the-job training for the partner's medical teams;
∎ Identify health related training needs for partners (health authorities and local NGOs), organize training and ensure the quality of the content;
∎ Provide sustained support in the transitional stage of nationalization the positions of current deputies
∎ If needed and adequate, participate / conduct trainings on relevant topics (SGBV, MHPSS, Primary health care for example).

Additional Requirements:
∎ PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
∎ Medical background (as doctor) or paramedical background (as a midwife or nurse).
∎ Excellent experience on project development, proposal development and donor relations
∎ Significant experience in similar positions or in humanitarian sector.
∎ Working experience with international donors like ECHO, BPRM, UN Agencies
∎ Knowledge of public health issues and program planning
∎ Experience on Sexual and Reproductive health, emergency health care, gender-based violence, and mental health programs is an asset
∎ Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills
∎ Proficiency in PC use and Word and Excel programmes.
∎ Experience liaising with external authorities such as local government and ministries.
