Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Manage the entire inventory function at the project site, including receiving, storing, issuing, and recording construction materials and equipment.
∎ Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records through ERP/inventory software.
∎ Ensure all materials received at the site match purchase orders and delivery notes, and report discrepancies to the procurement team.
∎ Conduct regular stock verifications and physical audits to prevent loss, damage, or pilferage.
∎ Monitor material movement and usage to ensure timely availability and avoid stock-out situations.
∎ Supervise site storekeepers and warehouse staff, providing direction and training as needed.
∎ Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and site engineers to forecast material needs and delivery schedules.
∎ Maintain proper documentation for incoming and outgoing materials as per company policies.
∎ Generate daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports and submit to head office/project management.
∎ Ensure safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of the storage area.
∎ Implement and maintain FIFO/LIFO stock rotation where applicable.
