Job Context:
∎ Name of the Hospital: HOPE MOTHER & CHILD HOSPITAL (HOPE MOTHER & CHILD HOSPITAL is a specialized hospital for mother and child. It`s an individual ownership hospital which is leading by the excellent efficient strong management system).
∎ Name of the position: Lab Technologist (Biochemistry/Hematology/Histopathology/ Immunology/Microbiology and other related fields).
∎ Department/Division: Medical Services.
∎ Employment Type: Full Time Staff (Permanent)
∎ Office Timing: On desk duty time--> 09.30am to 05.00pm and On-call duty time--> Evening and Night/Emergency.
∎ Job Location: Mirsarai Pourosava, Mirsarai, Chattogram.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ We are looking to hire some high-performing Lab Technicians to operate our HOPE MOTHER & CHILD HOSPITAL. If you're a passionate self-starter, HOPE MOTHER & CHILD HOSPITAL is a perfect place to grow your career.In this position, you will be responsible for leading the overall Laboratory Management and day to day operation Management in Pathological activities.
∎ Key responsibilities:
∎ Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments.
∎ Receive or collect, as well as process, samples, specimens.
∎ Calculate test results, and log and report results using a computer.
∎ Prepare and supervise experiments.
∎ Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary.
∎ Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area.
∎ Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
∎ Possess customer-handling techniques.
∎ Comfortable in dealing with all levels of people.
∎ Handle challenging situations with guests diplomatically.
∎ Actively participate as a team player to ensure unit cohesion.
∎ Present one-self in an appropriate manner i.e. dress code and personal hygiene.
∎ Being able to use the appropriate choice of words and actions when dealing with both internal and external clients.
∎ To maintain efficient processes and perform tasks associated with specimen collection and handling, to handover to laboratory staff and provide advice on such to the LAB.
∎ Adequate checking of specimens, ensuring correct packaging and dispatch of specimens.
∎ Appropriate and relevant use of patient management, scheduling systems, Proper Patient identification, especially during Home Collection.
∎ The successful candidate will also deliver excellent patient service, answer patient queries, act as a resource for patient information and strengthen the relationship between the patient and our entire medical facility.
∎ Collect and tag specimens exactly as outlined in each medical requisition / Prescription.
∎ Develop effective collection techniques as they relate to groups such as pediatric and gynae patients.
∎ Label and record all test tubes, log procedures and file paperwork.
∎ Demonstrate knowledge of the order of colour top tube to use, the volume of blood needed and test requirements.
∎ Must have a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and is able to effectively communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees.
∎ Stock management, ensuring relevant materials are adequately maintained.
∎ Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
∎ Details knowledge of BLS protocol in case the patient collapsed or fainted.
∎ Legible handwriting is required.
∎ Strong attention to detail; seek guidance and direction when necessary.
∎ Any other task assigned by the management.
∎ Ensure availability of reagents and other logistics at the laboratory.
∎ Refer presumptive and complicated cases to designated facilities for further diagnosis.
∎ Support in EQA and slide-rechecking.
∎ Assist govt. MT (Lab.) at UHC lab. Whenever necessary.
∎ Record results in respective forms and registers and reports promptly to the requesting staff.
∎ Ensure complete and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting as per the guideline.
∎ Clinical Procedures:
∎ Behaving in a professional manner in consideration and observation of patients' rights and dignity.
∎ Communicate effectively with patient, family and staff, as regards the procedure to be performed.
∎ Recognize and respond to emergency conditions.
∎ Obtain pertinent patient history and check procedural contradictions.
∎ Prepare patient for the procedure.
∎ Safety and Hygiene Maintenance:
∎ Participate in quality assurance planning of the laboratory.Support preparing quality assurance tools and guidelines in line with the national guidelines.Maintain safety measures for infection control in the laboratory.Maintain optimum standard in smearing and microscopy following the SOP and guidelines.Ensure maintenance of microscopy and other laboratory equipments as per the SOP and guidelines.Ensure hygienic disposal of waste materials.Periodic monitoring of the Laboratory (for EQA Technician). Check the randomized slides and provide the result as first controller (for EQA Technician).

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years

∎ Computer literate and must be excellent in MS WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT.
Salary: Tk. 15000 - 18000 (Monthly)
