Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct engineering surveys for the selected road.
∎ Assess the work activities for which labor-based construction methods are appropriate and for those sections for which heavy machinery is appropriate , establish a cost estimate for the rehabilitation and construction works for roads & bridges.
∎ Arrange necessary equipment, and keeping construction project costs at or, if possible, under budget.
∎ Highway Engineer is responsible for the projects from beginning to end.
∎ Make any necessary changes to the design drawings as per the site conditions.
∎ Supervise contractors on site, ensuring that the works meet the highest standards.
∎ Review the contractor's work programmers, resource, schedule and project implementation plans and ensure that the contractors/site supervisors comply with their work plans and complete the work within the specified time frame.
∎ Lead the planning, design, and execution of highway construction and maintenance projects.
∎ Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, contractors, and project managers.
∎ Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues promptly.
∎ Prepare technical reports and project documentationAny other job as per management's requirement.
