Job Context:
∎ The jobholder is primarily responsible for overall assigned duties. He works closely
∎ with the Category Manager to identify unit needs for operational solutions and work
∎ to formulate category strategies. He is required to evaluate & improve category
∎ management processes & systems on a continual basis and also he has to assist the
∎ line managers with analytical, interpretative & constructive thinking in discharging
∎ his responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Formulate and roll out the annual business plan and strategies for the categories in partnership with Marketing & Retail Operations that will deliver short and long term goals.
∎ Deliver category performance to agreed KPI’s,
∎ Sales
∎ ? GP (Gross Profit)
∎ ? Supplier management & quality product delivery
∎ Develop a products assortment and merchandise mix, including in-house products that will meet customer demand and financial objective.
∎ Design & develop merchandising concepts including fixtures and planograms for outlets, ensure strict implementation and provide regular updates on performance.
∎ Drive smart and proper demand management (Push & Pull driven) for ensuring consistency of availability through PR-PO-Delivery activities to meet up customer demand and category objectives.
∎ Drive more effective promotions for the categories that will support brand development and revenues growth.
∎ Close monitoring item to item in-depth sales and profit analysis, select right products assortment, set up forecasting qty, stock & order monitoring, ensuring proper display and merchandising mechanism to enhance category visibility that meet customer needs with fulfilling financial objectives
∎ Conducting regular market survey to evaluate market intelligence of products availability, setting up products pricing, new items information, consumer behavior to assess the development needs of the business at all levels in context of regular operation and expansion.
∎ Monitor competitor activities and consumer trends by gathering regular Market Intelligence and analyzing customer insights.
∎ Negotiate to stakeholders to increase availability & margins through more profitable pricing strategy & volume target to execute precision merchandising with comprehensive clustering, space planning and assortment management capabilities.
∎ Coordinate and develop suppliers to improve the effectiveness of supply chain for the categories.
∎ Train, coach and motivate the Category team to deliver financial objectives.
∎ Develop & Implement Category Specific SOPs/ Manuals in order to ensure effective adherence to QMS.
