Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carry out surveys of premises to identify fire hazards and assess the consequent fire risk including fire hazards, assessment of probable consequent risks and provide recommendations to minimise and control these risks
∎ Carry our fire safety surveys of specific building in line with the guidance and recommendation of The Accord throughout Bangladesh
∎ Prepare feedback surveys and findings to help with the preparation of reports
∎ Conduct technical reviews on designs related to fire and life safety engineering systems
∎ Review detailed engineering assessments ("DEAs") and confirm classification/categorisation
∎ Present technical aspects of a project and fire design approach to technical and non-technical individuals
∎ Analyse potential fires and develop suggestions on the outcome including recommendations in relation to life safety systems for buildings and factories
∎ Lead the preparation of reports and manuals as well as guidelines documents related to specific fire engineering and life safety protocols
∎ Produce a visual inspection report to summarize the findings and advise on recommended remedial works.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience with working with fire engineering codes of practice
∎ Appropriate knowledge of national and local guidance, including The Accord
∎ Ideal candidates will have experience of the following:
∎ Assessment of fire risk from fire
∎ Behaviour of fire in premises
∎ Effect of fire on people and behaviour of people in fire situations
∎ Means of escape
∎ Fire prevention
∎ Fire protection (active and passive)
∎ Management of fire safety
∎ Prior experience of working on industrial and building projects
∎ Demonstrable experience of coordinating with other disciplines and multiple stakeholders across geographies
∎ Ability to present design scheme and discuss design issues with clients, architects and other stakeholders
∎ IT and standard industry software skills
∎ Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
∎ Using leadership and communication skills to build and nurture relationship with Client
∎ Able to produce clear and timely reporting to client and client stakeholders
