Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from High Class University.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for performing substation engineering services on various projects (from 132 up to 400 kV voltage levels). Prepare electrical protection and control design deliverables, and/or physical layouts for high and extra high voltage substations (HV and EHV).
∎ Design substations utilizing client standards including bill of materials, single line diagram, yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, ground grid, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC and DC power systems, and cable lists.
∎ Prepare calculations and equipment specifications.
∎ Ability to prepare substation grounding calculations, direct stroke shielding calculations, battery & charger sizing calculations, etc.
∎ Physical protection & controls experience at field.
∎ Ability to work with Designer to develop substation single line diagrams, relaying & metering diagrams, DC schematic diagrams, substation plan & sections, grounding plans, etc.
∎ Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards as they relate to substation design. This includes the National Electrical Safety Code (ANSI - C2).
∎ Prepare new and modify existing relay drawings including relay panel arrangements, single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring, and relay panel wiring.
∎ Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
∎ Develop and evaluate plans for major projects.
∎ Coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5 years related high voltage (132kV and above) substation design experience
∎ power systems studies - load flow and short circuit analysis,
∎ Substation design - Basic and Detail design
∎ AutoCAD experience.
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
