Responsibilities & Context:
Job Responsibilities
Lead the editorial team and run the newsroom day to day
Set editorial policy, standards and ethics, and make sure they are followed
Plan daily coverage and assign stories
Approve all content before it is published on the website, social media and video channels
Make sure every report is accurate, verified and balanced
Guide and train a young team of sub-editors, reporters and content producers
Try out new formats and tools to improve how news is presented
Work with management on the portal's plans and growth
