Experience:

• At least 5 years

SSC/High School Degree with substantial experience in driving and vehicle maintenance.

• At least 5 years

• At least 5 years of proven experience in driving and vehicle maintenance;

• Valid professional driving license;

• Ability to drive vehicle in a variety of weather and traffic conditions;

• Experience working in international development organizations will be an added advantage;

• Excellent organizational and time management skills;

• Good driving record with no traffic violations;

• Positive attitude;

• Professional and clean appearance;

• Able to communicate effectively with Senior staffs and coworkers;

• Able to function well as part of a team;

Country Program Overview:

Starting in 1978 by promoting and implementing Nutrition programs, today, Helen Keller Bangladesh is implementing large scale food and health systems program work in Dhaka, the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), Sylhet, Bogura, Pabna and Narayangonj through and with the government of Bangladesh, as well as national and international partners and NGOs, academic and research institutions, and the private sector.

Since its beginning, Helen Keller Bangladesh has worked with over 150 local, international and government partners to establish Enhanced Homestead Food Production (HFP) programs benefiting over 4.5 million people. We are currently implementing programs to prevent blindness and Neglected Tropical Diseases alongside to programs to improve nutrition and food security that integrate gender-sensitive approaches. We are currently seeking a driver for the Helen Keller International Bangladesh Country Office.

Accountability:

The driver is accountable to the Assistant Manager – Admin and Procurement or his/her designate for performance. Timely driving activity implementation through effective planning, resource management and support to the Assistant Manager – Admin and Procurement and other HKI staff members related to driving and/or vehicle maintenance are the main areas of assessing performance.

Base station: Dhaka

Duties of the Driver:

• To drive HKI vehicles and be responsible for keeping HKI vehicles clean and in good order;

• Assist with cash withdrawals and other banking activities;

• Assist with collection and payment of utility bills;

• Hand delivery of official letters and documents;

• Handling postal services for local and international mail such as letters, bulletins, reports if and when required;

• To attend telephone calls and transfer them properly and take messages;

• To attend visitors at the reception and deal accordingly if and when required;

• Receive all incoming documents through postal and couriers if and when required;

• Provide logistics support to the Assistant Manager – Admin and Procurement or his/her designated staff member (e.g. prepare log book, vehicle duty schedule, comparative statement etc. through computer)

• Any other job assigned by the supervisor
