Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist the Dentist: During dental procedures, assist the dentist by handing them instruments and materials, suctioning mouths, and managing retractors.
∎ Patient Care: Ensure patients are comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
∎ Sterilization of Instruments: Clean and sterilize all dental instruments and ensure the dental operatory is properly disinfected after each patient.
∎ Dental X-rays: Take dental radiographs/x-rays when prescribed along with maintaining patient radiation safety.
∎ Inventory Management: Keep track of dental supplies and ensure inventory is always stocked.
∎ Scheduling Appointments: Assist with patient scheduling and manage patient flow.
∎ Record Keeping: Update and maintain patient dental records.
∎ Compliance: Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, patient confidentiality, etc.)
