Job Context:
∎ Do you have proven leadership experience in Health and Nutrition sector in the country? We are looking for a dynamic, agile and proven individual to lead our Health and Nutrition sector (one of the five thematic sectors of Save the Children in Bangladesh). This is a Senior Management position, reportable to the Deputy Country Director. Job Responsibilities:
∎ The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
∎ Programme Development & Resource Mobilization: Provide strategic guidance and active engagement in developing country strategic plan for the health and nutrition thematic areas in-line with the objectives of the SCI global strategy.
∎ Programme Management: Direct line management supervision of COPs/Project Directors/Project Managers implement specific health and nutrition projects/programs.
∎ Programme Quality: Mobilize internal and external capacity building opportunities and resources to ensure technical knowledge management within the team and provision of high-quality technical assistance to program implementation team.
∎ Human Resource management and development: Support in hiring, managing and providing guidance to all staff in the sector as and when needed.
∎ Representation and Networking: Ensure that country office has effective and appropriate representation at national, regional and international related forum and participates/contributes to conferences, workshops and meetings that will enhance our programs.
∎ Others:
∎ Participate in SMT & ESMT meetings and attend other meeting both within and outside SC and represent SC whenever requested by the Supervisor.
∎ Respond to natural disaster or emergency anywhere in Bangladesh serving as Health and Nutrition point person, if deployed.
∎ Champion GESI, Safeguarding and Risk & Compliance concepts and procedures to anticipate and prevent potential risks and report and respond to any non-compliances in this regard
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 10 years' experience in health programming with diverse technical areas in public health domain, including 7 years' experience in a senior management position.
∎ Significant demonstrated experience in providing high quality technical advice in health and nutrition programmes for children both in development and humanitarian context.
∎ Understanding of Core Humanitarian Standard and emergency health and nutrition programming
∎ Experience in resource mobilization, business development
∎ Experience in national level advocacy
∎ A commitment to children's rights and an ability to provide leadership in this area.
∎ Experience in managing health related significant grants especially with USAID, the Global Fund, EU, F etc with excellent donor relationship.
∎ Experience with strategic planning process.
∎ Experience of working effectively with partner organisations.
∎ Demonstrable competence in training, monitoring and evaluation, policy review and formulation, proposal and report writing.
∎ Advanced knowledge on health sector policy and programs, the country situation
∎ Clear understanding of Government's policy as well as Donor's perspective
∎ Clear understanding of Donor landscape and financial strategy
