∎ The Deputy General Manager - Medical Services is a suitably qualified physician who is legally, morally, and ethically responsible for the scope, standards, and quality of service. He stands responsible for medically useful, accurate information made available in a timely fashion to enhance medical services to patients. The Deputy General Manager - Medical Services participates in all managerial decisions and guides the operation ranging from selection of staff, choice of methods, purchase of equipment, quality assurance, quality control, safety, hours of operation, scheduling of staff, and utilization management. The Deputy General Manager - Medical Services shall be aware of and perform the duties and responsibilities of the position consistent with standards of accreditation of laboratories as per ISO 15189.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Have sufficient authority to implement and maintain the standards.
∎ Establish short and long term goals and allocate the appropriate resource.
∎ Provide cost-effective administration of all laboratory services.
∎ Provide educational direction for the medical and laboratory staff.
∎ Communicate effectively with accrediting, licensing, and regulatory bodies and maintain effective communication with the local board of directors of the hospital or institutional administration.
∎ Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
∎ Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring the Laboratory's Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality systems requirements.
∎ Effectively interact with laboratory personnel and other stakeholders to ensure all quality requirements are addressed and maintained.
∎ Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated. Any modifications to these will need to be investigated and assessed prior to activation.
∎ Bring together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Technical competencies -
∎ Advance User in MS Office, i.e. Excel, PowerPoint.
∎ SPSS for analysis.
∎ Trained in healthcare data management.
