Educational Requirements:

∎ BSc in Civil Engineering
Experience Requirements:
∎ 2 to 3 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Contract duration - 2 months and will possible renewal for up to 6 additional months subject to funding availability
∎ Line Management: The Construction Supervisor will report to and operate under the guidance of the Civil Engineer.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supporting the Civil Engineer in identification and development of construction project plans, work schedules and necessary assessments;
∎ Undertaking technical site rapid assessments as required for the emergency;
∎ Development of initial assessments and Bill of Quantities for repair or construction works required at camp sites in consultation with the Civil Engineer and SMS team
∎ Regular site supervision of ongoing DRR schemes and supervision of CfW, and technical laborers within camps
∎ Perform routine equipment, material, and site inspections
∎ Ensure quality of work during construction phase that comply with WFP standard
∎ Liaise with logistics for material procurement, delivery and quality control
∎ Liaise with finance to arrange and oversee the payment of Cash for Work in your camp
∎ Report on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as required by the line manager on workforce, material consumption and project progress;
∎ Implement health safety and environmental plan in accordance with WFP guidelines
Additional Requirements:
∎ The main criteria used in the selection of the Construction Supervisor are the following:
∎ Fluent in English and Bangla (spoken and written) - Chittagong dialect is a must
∎ Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working in a similar position - preferably within NGOs
∎ Previous experience in supervision of construction projects in the camp setting
∎ Previous experience in implementation and supervision of Cash for Work based construction projects
∎ Experience in using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) essential
∎ Experience in data collection and analysis
∎ Experience in previous implementation of CfW based construction projects is an added advantage
∎ Should have knowledge on humanitarian principals and attitude to work in Refugee Camps

Salary:
∎ Salaries will be based on qualifications and experience with a range between 60,000-75,000 BDT per month
