∎ At least 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal, or risk management roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. Experience in the FMCG & preference will be given to those with a former Govt—secretarial background.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations
∎ Monitoring regulatory developments, assessing their impact on the company, and implementing appropriate responses
∎ Acting as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and ensureing timely submissions and responses to regulatory inquiries
∎ Designing and enforcing internal policies and procedures that prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
∎ Ensuring that company policies align with industry standards and regulatory requirements
∎ Periodically reviewing and updating compliance policies to reflect changes in regulations or business practices
∎ Identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk and developing strategies to mitigate such risks
∎ Collaborating with other departments (Legal, Internal Audit, Risk Management) to create comprehensive risk management strategies
∎ Conducting internal audits and investigations to detect compliance issues and ensure proper reporting and remediation
∎ Developing and implementing compliance and ethics training programs for employees at all levels of the organization
∎ Promoting a corporate culture of compliance, integrity, and ethical behavior through regular communications and training sessions
∎ Ensuring employees are knowledgeable about industry regulations, legal standards, and internal policies
∎ Reporting regularly to the CEO and Board of Directors on compliance matters, including the status of the company’s compliance program and any material issues
∎ Ensuring that senior leadership and the Board are informed of any significant regulatory issues or non-compliance risks
∎ Preparing reports for external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors, as necessary
∎ Overseeing internal investigations of compliance violations, misconduct, or regulatory breaches
∎ Leading the development and implementation of corrective actions, including disciplinary measures and policy adjustments
∎ Overseeing due diligence and compliance programs for third-party vendors, partners, and contractors to ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards
∎ Implementing procedures to monitor and assess third-party compliance risks
∎ Fostering a corporate environment that prioritizes ethical behavior and corporate social responsibility
∎ Developing and promoting programs that encourage ethical business practices throughout the organization
∎ Job Overview:
∎ The Chief Compliance & Regulatory Officer (CCRO) is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the company’s compliance, regulatory, and governance programs.
