Responsibilities & Context:
A gypsum carpenter builds false ceilings, drywall partitions, and interior wall linings using gypsum boards and metal or wood framing.
They measure spaces, cut panels, fix channels, and finish joints to create smooth surfaces for homes and offices.
Main Job Duties
Metal Framing: Erects metal channels, studs, and tracks to form the skeleton for walls and ceilings.
Cutting & Fitting: Measures and cuts gypsum drywall boards to fit exact dimensions and spaces.
Installation: Secures boards to frames using screws, clips, or adhesives.
Finishing: Fills joints, applies tape, and sands surfaces to prepare them for painting.
