Job Responsibilities:
∎ Creating Technical Drawings: Creating detailed technical drawings based on architectural or engineering designs. These drawings may include floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and other construction-related drawings.
∎ Converting Design Concepts: Take conceptual sketches, designs, or ideas from architects or engineers and turn them into precise, to-scale drawings using AutoCAD software.
∎ Drafting Standards: Ensuring that all drawings adhere to industry-standard drafting practices, including appropriate line weights, layering, and annotation.
∎ Accuracy and Precision: Ensuring that all dimensions, measurements, and details on the drawings are accurate and consistent with the design specifications.
∎ Collaboration: Coordinating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to incorporate design changes and updates into the drawings as necessary.
∎ Updating and Revising Drawings: Making revisions to drawings based on feedback and changes in the design or project requirements.
∎ As-Built Drawings: Creating accurate as-built drawings that reflect the actual construction as it progresses, which can be used for future reference and maintenance.
∎ Material Lists: Generating material lists and schedules based on the drawings, which can aid in procurement and cost estimation.
∎ Technical Documentation: Assisting in the preparation of technical documents and reports related to the project.
∎ Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborating with other drafting teams that might focus on structural, electrical, mechanical, or other specialized drawings to ensure overall project cohesion.
∎ Software Proficiency: Being proficient in using AutoCAD and other relevant software tools for drafting and design.
∎ Quality Control: Conducting self-checks to ensure that the drawings are error-free and in compliance with company standards.
∎ Adhering to Codes and Regulations: Ensuring that the drawings adhere to relevant building codes, regulations, and standards set by local authorities.
∎ Time Management: Managing time effectively to meet deadlines and project milestones.
∎ Problem Solving: Resolving design and drafting challenges that may arise during the project.
