Educational Requirements:
∎ B.Sc in Marine Engineering (Four Years Course) from Marine Academy (Gov't)/ Marine Fisheries Academy (Gov't).
Experience Requirements:
∎ 5 to 10 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall supervision of ship operation, maintenance and safety.
∎ To handle certification and documentation of ships by liaising with Gov't authorities.
∎ Ensuring availability of necessary spare parts from local and/or international sources at competitive price.
∎ Training, development and disciplinary actions for the ship employees.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5-10 years' experience as Marine Engineer (Cadet, Fourth Engineer, Third Engineer & above positions).
∎ At least 3 (Five) years' experience in major overhauling of diesel engines in ship preferably Hansin, Akasaka and Yanmar brands.
∎ Must have docking experience of Mother Vessel/ Local Ship (at least 1000 ton cargo capacity).
∎ Must have tanker experienced as chief engineer on merchant vessel.
∎ Able to select Product and LPG Tanker vessel for carrying product from documents provided by Charterers.
∎ Sufficient knowledge about documentation requirements as per MMD and DG shipping for lighter vessel's operations
∎ At least 3 (Five) years working experience in Chemical/ Petrochemical/ Petroleum product carrier ships.
∎ Required Skills:
∎ Must have thorough knowledge and hands on experience on engine maintenance & propulsion system.
∎ Strong decision making capability regarding propeller shaft- bush clearance & rudder shaft- bush clearance.
∎ Expertise on navigation system.
∎ Proper knowledge on Inland Marine Routes.
∎ Communication & negotiation skill.
∎ Knowledge on certification/documentation of inland ships.
∎ Familiar with safety norms and regulations of ship ( As per marine law- International/Bangladesh )
∎ Ability to manage a team.
∎ IT Knowledge.
∎ Budget preparation & management skill.
