Job Context:
∎ Assistant Project Engineer/ Manager (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Civil)
∎ A pilot program of game-changing products and services in the area of technology, science and engineering innovation funded by the UK funding service, to implement a new pilot project of solar-hydro hybrid power plant to be installed in the remote areas in the Hill Tracts in Bangladesh. Several locations specially in hill-tracks have been short-listed where the project will be installed. The project will be jointly supervised by the UK organization, University of Glasgow and a local reputed company.
∎ Job Type: Contractual, Based on the project status, finding and performance, the contracts may be extended
∎ Job Location: Dhaka and Chittagong Hill Tracts
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Perform and supervise the overall quality control of all the project related works (schedule, plans and execution) and report regularly on project status
∎ Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
∎ Time to time compare the actual work done against plan and take necessary action to maintain the work schedule of project
∎ Identify problem area and provide appropriate solution for all service and engineering related issues
∎ Monitor and supervise works to assure that plans, specifications, and regulations are being observed and followed
∎ Supervise site staff and coordinate between management and site
∎ Coordinate with other team members, suppliers, project management team, local community for planning and executing set goals
∎ Cooperate and communicate effectively with Project Manager/Coordinate and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
∎ Provide project management team with weekly reports, or upon request, on the progress of the set goals or problems faced during execution of the assigned task
∎ Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
Additional Requirements:
∎ Hands on experience on solar and hydro power generation
∎ Previous experience on large water reservoir system is required
∎ 2-3 years experiences in Project Management/Power Plant
∎ Applicants from the Hill Tracts region will get preference
∎ Must have good knowledge and understanding of the basics of Electrical/Mechanical/Civil engineering
∎ Knowledge on solar cell, water turbine and transmission and distribution system is desirable
∎ Previous experience on large water reservoir and rain harvesting system will be advantage
∎ Must be willing to frequently travel between Dhaka and Chittagong Hill tracts
∎ Good communication skills in English is desirable
∎ Must have project planning and execution skills.
∎ Must have good interpersonal and communication skill.
∎ Must have good knowledge in MS Office and other simulation software
