Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Supervise day-to-day operations of the in-door pharmacy to ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medicines.
∎ Ensure all prescriptions are reviewed, verified, and dispensed in accordance with hospital protocols.
∎ Maintain availability of essential and emergency drugs at all times.
∎ Monitor and manage stock levels, prevent stock-outs or overstocking, and coordinate timely reordering.
∎ Ensure proper storage conditions for pharmaceuticals, including temperature-sensitive items.
∎ Oversee regular stock audits and manage expiry/near-expiry tracking and disposal.
∎ Supervise, train, and motivate pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
∎ Coordinate staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage during shifts.
∎ Support professional development and performance appraisal of team members.
∎ Ensure strict compliance with regulatory guidelines (DGDA, BSTI, hospital SOPs).
∎ Maintain accurate records of controlled drugs, prescription logs, and pharmacy reports.
∎ Facilitate internal and external audits as required.
∎ Work in close collaboration with doctors, nurses, and other departments for patient-centered pharmacy support.
∎ Handle queries and concerns related to medication availability and usage.
∎ Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to medication safety initiatives.
