∎ Job Summary: The Anesthesia Assistant is responsible for supporting the anesthesia team in administering anesthesia for ophthalmic surgical procedures. The individual will assist with patient preparation, airway management, and monitoring vital signs during procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist with patient preparation, including obtaining and documenting patient history, performing pre-anesthesia assessments, and positioning the patient for surgery.
∎ Assist the anesthesia provider with airway management and administration of anesthesia.
∎ Monitor patient vital signs and document observations in the medical record.
∎ Administer medications as directed by the anesthesia provider.
∎ Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control and sterilization procedures.
∎ Communicate effectively with the anesthesia provider, surgical team, and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and comfort.
∎ Participate in continuing education and in-service training programs to develop knowledge and skills.
∎ Perform other duties as assigned by the anesthesia department head.
